That’s right nerdlings, The Hollywood Reporter just posted this breaking news that HBO has just announced that next season, Season 7 will True Blood’s LAST season. The season, which will air in 2014 will be 10 episodes long, and will bring the show to it’s final conclusion.
“True Blood has been nothing short of a defining show for HBO,” said HBO president of programming Michael Lombardo said in a statement… “Together with its legions of fans, it will be hard to say goodbye to the residents of Bon Temps, but I look forward to what promises to be a fantastic final chapter of this incredible show.”
I don’t know bout all the Truebies out there, but after this season, I think HBO has made the right decision. The series has veered from Charlaine Harris’ novels to the point where pretty much the only things that are the same are the names of characters and the location of Bon Temps. Not that that is a bad thing. I liked a lot of the changes from the original book series that Allan Ball made in the first several seasons. In fact, having read almost the entire book series, I almost preferred the TV show to the books. But now, with the flack that Harris was getting for the last book and the strange turns that True Blood has taken, I think it’s time to put this baby to bed.
But that’s just the opinion of one fan.
What do all you Truebies out there think? Comment, Tweet and let us know!
