The amazing Neil Gaiman was once asked if he thought George R. R. Martin was letting his fans down because he wasn’t sitting at home writing his next chapter. This specific fan thought he was taking too long in between his epic books.
Neil Gaiman said it brilliantly. George R.R. Martin is not your bitch. (Read the full article from Neil HERE.)
This concept of GRRM taking far too long to write the next sequel to his truly epic tale A Song of Ice and Fire (or more commonly known by nerds everywhere as Game of Thrones) is one we fans are quite acquainted with.
This year at San Diego Comic Con, it seems the duo took it too far and actually summoned the author himself (who was obviously in the audience for this event and even more likely asked to participate in said concert).
Here is the clip where we see the great author himself show the duo just what GRRM is capable of…outside of killing off all of our favorite characters.
Now, those of us who write know how hard a job it is. And those of us who want to have our writing published as novels, like yours truly, know that once you become a best selling author you have a lot of commitments. Book signings, tours, interviews…all over the country and the world! And then, once in a while…writer’s block happens. So, we understand that GRRM has a lot on his plate besides writing the next chapter to the next sequel. So there is some slack to be cut, here. And as Neil said, GRRM is NOT our bitch.
