For those of you who don’t know, Kevin Grevioux is one of the creators and writers of the Underworld franchise and he was “Raze” in the film. Yes, I said Underworld. I met the guy who wrote Underworld. And he was FANTABULOUS!!!!
It started with a session with Pilar Alessandra, who runs On The Page a screen writing course for budding film enthusiasts. She also consults and has a podcast, DVDs and a BOOK about screen writing! She’s pretty awesome and very knowledgable. So, if you want to know a little but about story and structure for film scripts, she is your girl!
After that, a good friend of mine, Erika Elis presented Kevin for an intimate panel on his experiences in the comic book and film industries. Talk about an AMAZING guy! He was on his way to a masters in Microbiology when he decided he wanted to go in to sci-fi and BAM. The rest is history!
Kevin is not only handsome, he’s got the sexiest bass voice in the history of ever and he’s SO. EFFING. SMART. It makes me swoon. I have to admit that nothing gets this geeks motor running like a bass voice, a sense of humor (which Kevin has also) and being WICKED SMART.
There will be pictures of the event posted here soon, they just haven’t been sent to my buddy Ryan yet, but when they are, I will be posting them here, don’t you worry!!!
Anyway, Kevin dropped nugget after nugget of fabulous advice for those of us interested in graphic novels and film. Now, me, I’m interested in novels and graphic novels and comics. And I’m a huge film buff, but I’ve never wanted to be like “in the industry” unless it’s because I wrote the source material for a TV show, like The Vampire Diaries or you know, movies like Harry Potter! But even as a novelist, this panel was extremely informative! And on top of all of that, the man was SO NICE!
This was such a treat for me, I have to tell you and I have to give HUGE shout outs to Ryan, Erika and Angelic for putting this whole meet up together. THANK YOU!!!
